Cabler nabs D.C.-based reality pilot

Rob Lowe’s D.C.-based reality pilot has landed at E! Entertainment Television.

“Potomac Fever,” from Lowe’s Loweprofile shingle and reality producers 44 Blue (“Lock Up”), will center on real-life aspiring politicos as they look to move up the ranks of power in the nation’s capital.

Nonfiction project reps the latest in a string of reality skeins set in the capital, including Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of D.C.” and “Top Chef D.C.,” as well as TLC’s “D.C. Cupcake.”

Lowe is no stranger to D.C.-set shows, having starred on “The West Wing” and played a senator on “Brothers and Sisters.”

Lowe is also now a regular on NBC’s politics-tinged sitcom “Parks and Recreation.”

“I’ve always had an affinity for the adventures of young Washingtonians,” Lowe told Variety in June, before the project landed a network home.
