‘Dr. Oz’ on world tour

Medical yakker sold to 82 territories

“The Dr. Oz Show” has sold in 82 territories around the world including format sales to MBC in the Middle East and Rossiya in Russia, according to Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Prods.

Broadcasters in South Korea, New Zealand, Hungary, Romania Turkey and Latin America have bought the U.S. version of the daytime yakker.

“Dr. Oz’s broad appeal is demonstrated by the range of territories that have embraced the show,” said Keith Le Goy, prexy, international distribution, SPT, who made the announcement along with Ed Louwerse, managing director, 2waytraffic international, SPT; and Sheri Salata and Erik Logan, presidents, Harpo Productions. “His unique ability to develop strong connections with viewers makes The Dr. Oz Show an attractive property for our international broadcasters.”

“This format gives channels the opportunity to find their own medical equivalent of Dr. Oz and through such a personality, forge a strong and trusted social link with their audiences,” Louwerse said.
