Walt Disney and Italy’s RAI Cinema have inked a multiyear, multigenre product pact, Disney announced at Cannes’ Mipcom mart on Tuesday.
Deal comes as Disney flexes its muscle across the Middle East and North Africa, closing a programming deal with pay TV platform Orbit Showtime Network.
The Disney-RAI Cinema arrangement includes films, such as “Alice in Wonderland,” Disney-Pixar toons including “Toy Story 3,” “Wall-E” and “Up” plus “Desperate Housewives” and other skeins from ABC Studios.
The pact, which builds on past deals and offers content for all of pubcaster RAI’s channels, will also offer free-to-air auds Disney classics including “Snow White.”
Disney’s Orbit Showtime Network pact is also a multiyear, multigenre agreement giving OSN exclusive pay TV and pay-per-view rights to films and ABC Studios series in the region.
