CW signs Trachtenberg to develop new show

'Gossip Girl' star will also guest star midseason on NBC

The CW has closed a script deal for an as-yet-untitled show starring “Gossip Girl” thesp Michelle Trachtenberg.

“Gossip Girl” creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are attached to produce through their shingle Fake Empire in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios.

Trachtenberg is also set to produce alongside Schwartz, Savage and Len Goldstein. “Six Degrees” scribe Stuart Zicherman has been tapped to exec produce and write.

Thesp would play a young criminology student with a gift for profiling and a dark past.

Trachtenberg has also been confirmed to guest star in upcoming episodes of NBC midseason show “Love Bites.”

“It’s a guest role, but there’s always a chance the character could appear again,” a source at NBC said.
