New series to use fans' ideas for storylines

“Bar Karma,” a new series from Current TV that allows viewers to shape the plot via social networking, is set to debut Feb. 11.

Created by Will Wright — architect of the popular videogame “The Sims” — and former Nickelodeon chief Albie Hecht, “Bar Karma” will run for 12 episodes. Show revolves around the staff and patrons who frequent a bar set in outer space.

Fans can send in story ideas to Wright’s Storymaker application, and some of them will be incorporated into the show.

Skein William Sanderson (“True Blood”), Matthew Humphreys and Cassie Howarth.

” ‘Bar Karma’ is the first program to provide fans with an opportunity to drive the story and shape it before a show hits the air. This is taking viewer engagement to an entirely new level,” said Wright.
