News program will replace 'Lou Dobbs' at 7 p.m.
CNN has set March 22 as the launch date for John King’s nightly 7 p.m. show, dubbed “John King, USA.”
The show is described as “a fresh look at politics in and out of Washington,” with a focus on “issues of the day that matter to average Americans.” The King hour is the all-news cabler’s permanent replacement for “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” which ended its run when Dobbs exited the network in November. Since then, CNN has been running a three-hour block of “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” to fill the 7 p.m. hour.
CNN said King’s “final dress rehearsal” for the show will be streamed live at noon ET on CNN.com on March 19.
