Chaiken sews up project at CBS

'Rhodes to Recovery' set among surgeons

For her next project, scribe Ilene Chaiken is tackling the “S” word — surgery.

CBS is developing the hourlong medical drama “Rhodes to Recovery,” from “The L Word” creator Chaiken.

Show centers on an openly gay female trauma surgeon and her new colleague, a straight male neurosurgeon. Their lives at work — and at home — become complicated when one starts dating the other’s ex-wife.

Chaiken is exec producing “Rhodes to Recovery” along with Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum. CBS TV Studios, where the Tannenbaums are based, is the studio.

“The L Word” ran on Showtime from 2004-09. More recently, Chaiken created and exec produced reality show spinoff “The Real L Word,” along with the Magical Elves shingle.

At CBS, Chaiken developed the project “Deliverance Dane” last season.
