Once a hot TV commodity during recessionary times, celebrity bowling is poised for a comeback.
Spin Cycle Media is selling weekly syndie half-hour “Stars and Strikes,” which will be available to air in the spring.
Shot on location at Lucky Strike Bowling in the L.A. Live complex adjacent to Staples Center, “Stars and Strikes” is the brainchild of former “Celebrity Bowling” producer Don Gregory.
Celebrities will be paired with an audience member, who will win prizes if his or her celeb triumphs. Also, the celebrities may be asked to skip their turn and their audience-appointed partners may be asked to bowl.
Those skedded to participate include Flavor Flav, Antonio Sabato Jr., Tim Conway, Dan Cortese, Terrell Owens and Shannon Elizabeth.
Spin Cycle Media is offering the series to stations throughout the U.S. in a 50-50 barter split. Gregory, Chuck Simon and Chris Cusack are exec producers.
