Endemol confirms ABC 'Winter Wipeout' order

LONDON — Endemol is to make a 13th season of “Big Brother” for CBS in the U.S.

As previously reported, the reality skein producer also has won a new commission from ABC — a cold climate take on “Wipeout” entitled “Winter Wipeout,” which will bow in January.

“Big Brother,” now without a broadcaster in the U.K. following Channel 4’s decision to ax the reality show, will return to CBS next year.

It remains on air in such territories as France, Italy, Spain, Germany, India, Israel and Brazil.

The green light for “Winter Wipeout” is in addition to next summer’s fourth U.S. season of “Wipeout,” and together accounts for 24 episodes in total.

Endemol USA chairman David Goldberg said: “It’s exciting to see the ‘Wipeout’ brand expanding and I’m thrilled that fans of the summer version will now be able to get their fix of laughs and wipeouts set in a winter wonderland.”

“Wipeout” has sold to 29 territories, according to Endemol.
