Now we know who Paula Abdul will “Live to Dance” with — and they’re mostly unknowns, but with plenty of chops.
CBS announced today the host and panel of experts for the new reality-competition series (retitled from “Got to Dance”) with Paula Abdul. Executive producer, lead expert and mentor Paula Abdul, who’s serving as “executive producer, lead expert and mentor,” will be joined by choreographer Travis Payne and singer/dancer Kimberly Wyatt, Andrew Günsberg is host.
Like Abdul, Günsberg has “Idol” pedigree — he was co-host of “Australian Idol,” as well as host of the nationally syndicated radio countdown, “Take 40 Australia.”
Payne was the choreographer/associate director to Kenny Ortega on Michael Jackson’s scrapped “This Is It” tour (and seen in the documentary that chronicled the tour’s rehearsals and Jackson’s last days). He has also worked with Usher, Madonna, Miley Cyrus and Janet Jackson, among others.
Wyatt was an original member of The Pussycat Dolls, and was a judge on the U.K. series “Got to Dance,” which is what “Live to Dance” is based on.
Meanwhile, Julie Chen is not a part of “Live to Dance.”
