Comedians to turn out for Kennedy Center event
Close to a dozen entertainers will be in D.C. Nov. 9 to fete Tina Fey, this year’s recipient of the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American humor.
Among artists slated to appear are Fred Armisen, Steve Carell, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Hudson, Jane Krakowski, Steve Martin, Seth Meyers, Lorne Michaels and Betty White. Fey was tapped in May to receive the award, currently in its 13th year. Event will be taped by WETA-TV Washington and airs Nov. 14 on PBS stations. The Twain prize celebrates individuals who “create humor from their uniquely American experiences.” Previous winners are Richard Pryor, Jonathan Winters, Carl Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Newhart, Lily Tomlin, Lorne Michaels, Steve Martin, Neil Simon, Billy Crystal, George Carlin and Bill Cosby.
