Veronique Cayla steps in at Franco-German net

Veronique Cayla, presently in charge of Gaul’s national audiovisual funding body the Centre National du Cinema, will be the next president of Franco-German TV network Arte France.

Current prexy Jerome Clement, also a past CNC topper, is stepping down after more the 20 years at the helm of the European arts and culture channel.

Cayla will join Arte France’s board of directors in January and take over as its president in March.

She is also in the running to preside over the broadcaster’s management committee.

Cayla has been CNC topper since June 2005. Before that she was general manager of the Cannes Film Festival and previously worked for cinema group MK2 and French broadcast regulator the Conseil Superieur de l’Audiovisuel.
