AMC cancels ‘Rubicon’ after one season

Cable channel denies cult favorite a second run

AMC has decided not to bring back critically acclaimed series “Rubicon” for a second season.

Though notices were strong and seemed to gain momentum as the series progresses in its August-October run, the cult favorite might have been a victim of the success of other original series “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and the recently premiered “The Walking Dead.”

“‘Rubicon’ gave us an opportunity to tell a rich and compelling story, and we’re proud of the series,” the network said in a statement. “This was not an easy decision, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a phenomenally talented and dedicated team.”
