After shedding viewers, “Huge” has been canceled.
A few months ago, the move would’ve been surprising considering good early buzz and ratings strength. However, as the skein unspooled over the season, the show continually lost its audience and Alphabet cabler decided the series from “My So-Called Life” creator Winnie Holzman didn’t have much of a future.
Net has already picked up “Pretty Little Liars” and is expecting the same for “Melissa and Joey.”
News of the cancellation came as a surprise to Holzman, who said, “First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who embraced ‘Huge’ and supported it. While it’s disappointing not to be able to go forward with the characters we love so much and had so many plans for, we’re deeply grateful for this opportunity. Our goal was and is to create television of depth and complexity that inspires people to think and feel. We believe we acccomplished that with ‘Huge’ and can’t wait to do it again.”
