A January of Renewals: “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “The Good Wife” Get The Good News

GoodWifeNCIS-Los-Angeles The rush of early network pickups continued Thursday, as CBS ordered sophomore seasons of “The Good Wife” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.”

Neither greenlights were a surprise, given the solid perfs by both. They join frosh entries “Glee” at Fox and “Modern Family,” “The Middle” and “CougarTown” at ABC in getting a early start on their second seasons.

Both Tuesday night shows come from CBS TV Studios.

“Two great new series, fronted by talented stars on one big night of television,” said CBS Entertainment prexy Nina Tassler.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” reps the most-watch new series on the nets, averaging 16.8 million viewers. Show is also averaging a 3.8 rating/10 share among adults 18-49.

Shane Brennan and R. Scott Gemmill exec produce “NCIS: LA,” a spin-off from the mother “NCIS” ship.

As for “The Good Wife,” the show has averaged 13.7 million viewers – regularly winning its Tuesday 10 p.m. slot – and averages a 3.0/8 with adults 18-49. 

The Julianna Margulies starrer comes from exec producers Tony Scott, Ridley Scott, Robert King, Michelle King, David Zucker and Brooke Kennedy.
