A&E seeks out ‘Unexplained’

Liman to add unscripted docu series to paranormal lineup

A&E is upping its commitment to the world of ghosts, ghouls and the unknown.

With “Paranormal State” and “Psychic Kids” already on the programming slate, cabler has ordered unscripted docu pilot “The Unexplained” from Doug Liman.

In the pilot, a 5-year-old boy talks about his previous life experiences and claims he was actor George Raft, a movie star from 1930s.

Air Extreme is set to produce. Liman and Russ Stratton will exec produce with Robert Sharenow and Elaine Frontain Bryant.

Liman has been busy on the television side. His Hypnotic shingle just signed a two-year development deal with Universal Cable Prods., and he’ll be directing a pilot for MTV titled “I Just Want My Pants Back,” a half-hour comedy based on the novel by David Rosen about a group of twentysomethings who begin making adult decisions.
