Despite losing the comedy prize to “Modern Family,” the folks from “Glee” were all smiles at the Fox after-party held at Cicada.
“Glee” creator-helmer Ryan Murphy showed up late with trophy in tow, along with supporting comedy winner Jane Lynch, who made a beeline for the restroom. “I’ve needed to go for the last three hours — all that champagne,” she said.
Murphy, who stopped to gab with Fox TV chairman Dana Walden, admitted he didn’t expect to win for his helming duties on the show’s pilot seg.
“I was shocked, but I did remember to thank my friend Dana Walden instead of my boss,” he said. “I did get that right.”
So what’s next for the newly crowned “Glee” guy?
“I’m very excited for September to come, so I can go away for a while.”
