Personal manager Thor Arngrim dies

Worked with Liberace, Debbie Reynolds

Thor Arngrim, personal manager for entertainers including Liberace and Debbie Reynolds, died Dec. 16 in Vancouver, British Columbia of complications due to Parkinson’s Disease. He was 81.

Married to voiceover actress Norma Macmillian, the voice of Casper and Gumby, he was the father of Alison Arngrim, who played Nellie Oleson in “Little House on the Prairie” and father of Stefan Arngrim (“Land of the Giants.”)

Born Wilfred James Bannin in Saskatchewan, he started out as an actor, and appeared on Broadway in “Tamburlaine the Great” and in “Luther,” starring Albert Finney.

Founder of Vancouver’s Totem Theater, he also worked with Susan Anton, Peter Jurasik and Michael Ontkean.

He is survived by his daughter and his son.
