Charles R. Schueler

Cablevision has promoted public relations vet Charles R. Schueler to the position of exec vice president of communications and community relations, reporting to chief operating officer Tom Rutledge.

Among other tasks, Schueler will strategize communications for Cablevision’s Optimum-branded digital and online services, the Rainbow Media networks and Cablevision’s local media group. He has overseen public relations for Madison Square Garden-related properties since 2001.

Schueler, who joined Cablevision in 1988 as director of public affairs for its former Boston cable system, most recently served as the corporation’s senior vice president of media and community relations.

“Charlie has guided the company’s media and community relations efforts during a period of unprecedented change and growth for the company,” Cablevision prexy/CEO James L. Dolan said.
