Baseball announcer Rory Markas dies

Was the voice of the Angels of Anaheim

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball announcer Rory Markas died Monday at age 54.

The cause of death is not yet known. According to Angels radio station 830 AM, he was found dead in his Palmdale, Calif., home after paramedics were called.

He had been with the Angels since 2002 and made the final call that year when the team defeated the San Francisco Giants for the World Series.

He also was an announcer for USC’s football games and Los Angeles Clippers, in addition to working for local Fox affiliate KTTV.
