Sharan Magnuson exits Warner TV Group
Network and studio TV PR vet Sharan Magnuson is taking a break from the biz.Magnuson announced last week that she would exit as senior VP of worldwide publicity at Warner Bros. Television Group. The exec is leaving due to medical issues, having had four cervical disc replacement surgeries in less than four years. Magnuson had been in the position since March 2007, overseeing business, trade and entertainment communications for Warner Bros. TV, Warner Horizon TV, Telepictures Prods., Warner Bros. Animation, Studio 2.0, Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution (including cable) and Warner Bros. Intl. TV Distribution. Magnuson joined Warner Bros. in 1999 and helped launch hits including “Two and a Half Men” and “Nip/Tuck.” “(Sharan’s) leadership, talents and relationships working with creative talent, executives and the press are matched only by her character, selflessness and extraordinary work ethic,” said Warner Bros. TV prexy Peter Roth. “She will be sorely missed by us all.” Before that, she spent 12 years at Fox — joining the net in 1987, just before its primetime launch. “It was my good fortune and an honor to work at two amazing studios over the past 23 years,” Magnuson said. “I am so grateful to Peter Roth for bringing me to Warner Bros. Television and supporting me throughout my career. To have played a small role in launching the Fox network was nothing short of amazing.”
