John de Mol company partners with Warner Horizon

Jon de Mol’s Talpa Media has parked at Warner Bros.’ Warner Horizon label.

Under the new arrangement, Talpa, which operates in the Netherlands, and Warner Horizon will tap into Talpa’s library to produce new reality shows and gameshows for broadcast and cable in the U.S.

Talpa is already a producer, along with Endemol (the TV giant that de Mol once ran), on ABC’s “Dating in the Dark,” which recently scored a second-season pickup. Talpa titles overseas includes “The Golden Cage,” “Viper’s Nest,” “Pretty Smart,” “Guesstimation,” “I Love My Country,” “Divided” and “Know Your Nation.”

Company has a similar deal in France; it’s developing projects with Shine France for that territory.

Deal reflects Talpa’s desire to increase its presence in the U.S. market. (Company was once rumored to be close to acquiring Bunim Murray, but no deal has taken place.)

Warner Horizon is behind shows such as “The Bachelor,” “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew,” “High School Reunion” and scripted shows like “Dark Blue.”
