Syfy promotes three execs

Cabler ramping up original programming slate

Syfy is making some major moves in its executive suite.

Net has promoted Tim Krubsack to senior VP of alternative programming, Lucia Gervino to senior VP of production and Erika Kennair to VP of original programming and development.

Krubsack will oversee the cabler’s reality slate. Series that are performing well for the NBC Universal net include “Ghost Hunters,” “Destination Truth” and “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files.” Upcoming reality programs include “Unbelievably Freakin’ Obvious,” with Billy Ray Cyrus; “Beast Legends”; “Hollywood Treasure”; and “Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen.”

Gervino will have oversight on the production of Syfy’s reality series, as well as its non-Universal Cable Prods.-produced scripted series.

Kennair will oversee “Stargate: Universe,” “Sanctuary” and “Outer Space Astronauts,” as well as the recently announced four-hour miniseries “Peter Pan” prequel “Neverland.” Also under her purview is backdoor pilot “Red Faction: Origins.”

“Syfy’s success has always been a team effort, dependent on the contributions of incredible individuals,” said Mark Stern, exec VP of original content, to whom the three will report.

Top scripted series are “Warehouse 13” and “Eureka,” which ended its fourth season on Friday.
