Director general had revealed confidential info

LONDON — Kenneth Plummer, director general of Danish pubcaster DR, has ankled after a journalist revealed that he had leaked confidential information.

DR chairman Michael Christiansen confirmed Plummer’s resignation but refused to comment further.

Plummer had agreed a deal with journalist Kurt Lassen, who was researching a book about him, that he would disclose the identities of two candidates who had applied for the post of director general in 2005 if the hack kept details about his private life out of the book.

Lassen chose not to honor the pact. “I decided that I would feel worse about sticking to my agreement with him than I would about breaking it,” Lassen told DR. “I have a lot of sources that paint a much different picture of Plummer than he does of himself.”
