Murphy, Gordon team on procedural drama

Hour-long show appears destined for Fox

Showrunners Ryan Murphy and Howard Gordon are teaming for create a new procedural drama that appears destined for Fox.

Given the auspices, Fox is expected to give a put pilot commitment to the untitled drama. Murphy and Gordon pitched the show through 20th Century Fox TV, where they’re both based.

The duo are mum on details, but the hourlong is believed to be a character-driven procedural that centers on an organization or clinic that forces people to face their worst fears and phobias.

The Murphy-Gordon pairing reps the TV equivalent of a musical supergroup, given the scribes’ track records as showrunners over the past decade. Murphy and Gordon will write and exec produce the project together.

Murphy, who helmed “Eat Pray Love,” earned an Emmy last month for directing the pilot of “Glee.” His other credits include “Nip/Tuck” and “Popular.”

Murphy’s participation is through his four-year, eight-figure deal with 20th, sealed earlier this year.

Gordon was the longtime steward of Fox’s “24.” His resume also includes “The Inside,” “Angel,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “The X-Files.”

Gordon is in the midst of an overall deal at 20th through his Teakwood Lane shingle.
