Lowe’s D.C. ‘Fever’

Thesp partners with 44 Blue on show

Like an incumbent back on the campaign trail, Rob Lowe can’t get enough of Washington.

The actor, who starred on “The West Wing” and played a senator on “Brothers and Sisters,” has partnered with reality producers 44 Blue (“Lock Up”) to produce a new nonfiction series set in D.C.

“Potomac Fever” will center on real-life aspiring politicos as they look to move up the ranks of power in the nation’s capital.

Lowe will exec produce through his Loweprofile shingle.

“I’ve always had an affinity for the adventures of young Washingtonians,” Lowe said. “They live and love at the center of world power. I can’t wait to tell their stories.”

44 Blue co-owner and exec VP Stephanie Drachkovitch noted that Lowe has not only played politicians on camera, but he’s also been involved in many issues through the years — including testifying in front of a House panel on energy and global warming issues.

“He’s the perfect partner to help us tell the stories of ambitious young people who are trying to navigate the drama of real-life politics and power in one of the most exciting cities in the world,” Drachkovitch said.

Lowe recently guested (and will continue to recur) on NBC’s politics-tinged sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” and will guest on the fourth season of Showtime’s “Californication.”
