Limbaugh heads to Golf Channel

Commentator to be star pupil on 'Haney Project'

Rush Limbaugh has been tapped by Golf Channel to be the celebrity pupil for the third season of “The Haney Project,” which will have another eight-episode run beginning in spring 2011.

The show features one celebrity each year cracking wise while being schooled in his golf game by world-renowned instructor Hank Haney, the former swing coach of Tiger Woods. Former NBA star Charles Barkley helped launch “Haney” to record ratings for a new original Golf Channel series in May 2009, while Ray Romano (“Men of a Certain Age”) swung into the second season.

“‘The Haney Project’ is a perfect example of how Golf Channel marries some of the biggest names in entertainment with golf to create fun, edgy programming,” Golf Channel senior veep of programming, production and operations Tom Stathakes said.

Golf Channel viewers will get a taste of Limbaugh on the links when he appears on the cabler’s “Golf in America,” Tuesday at 9 p.m.
