Sundance Channel has tapped Michael Klein as senior VP of original programming and development.
Klein arrives at the cabler from Travel Channel, where he was instrumental in the production of popular food skein “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.” He will be based in New York and report to exec VP-g.m. Sarah Barnett.
Sundance recently aired the season finale of “Be Good Johnny Weir,” an eight-part docuseries based on the outspoken Olympic figure skater. Fifth season of signature series “Iconoclasts” is set to debut Oct. 2. Personalities to be examined in the upcoming six-part series include thesps Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman, Charlize Theron and primatologist Jane Goodall.
Prior to his tenure at Travel Channel, Klein was VP of lifestyle programming for Discovery, and was responsible for series “What Not to Wear,” “Little People, Big World” and “Miami Ink.”
