Nickelodeon series set records

A grand Monday night for Nickelodeon saw “iCarly” become the cabler’s most-watched broadcast ever and new series “Big Time Rush” its highest-rated live-action series premiere.

Beating its previous high by more than 25%, “iCarly” drew 11.2 million total viewers at 8 p.m. for its “iSaved Your Life” episode. By comparison, CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother” won the timeslot for broadcast networks Monday with 10.5 million viewers.

The Miranda Cosgrove starrer set series records in the 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14 demos.

“Big Time Rush,” about a fictional boy band that wins a national talent contest, drew 6.8 million at 8:30 p.m. In Nick’s key demos, “Rush” delivered approximately twice as many viewers as Nick got in the slot a year ago.

“Rush” will move to its regular 8:30 p.m. Friday slot this week.

History also shined Monday with the 9 p.m. series debut of “American Pickers,” which drew 3.1 million viewers (including 1.6 million in both adults 18-49 and 25-54). That led into series highs for “Pawn Stars” at 10 p.m. (3.8 million viewers, including 2.2 million in the demos).
