Network will unveil new 'Mrs. Miracle' at Tuesday upfront
Hallmark Channel will announce a Doris Roberts telepic at its Gotham upfront today.Roberts is to star in “Call Me Mrs. Miracle,” the sequel to “Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle,” which performed well when it premiered on Hallmark in December. Dan Wigutow, Michael M. Scott and Debbie Macomber are exec producers. Hallmark, which continues to focus on family-friendly fare, just expanded its deal with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Beginning Monday, cabler will offer a seven-hour block of programming. The lineup will include library programs that previously ran on networks such as Food Network and HGTV, such as “From Martha’s Kitchen,” “From Martha’s Home” and “From Martha’s Garden.” Deal further moves Hallmark into the lifestyle business, where it will face off against Food, HGTV, TLC and the new Oprah Winfrey Network, among other outlets. Also, net announced Monday that Jack Coleman (“Heroes”) has been cast in telepic “Rock the House,” about a strained father-daughter relationship that is improved through music. Pic, from Larry Levinson Prods., is set to launch next year. Ernie Barbarash is directing from a script written by Joe Woolf.
