Company acquires lit agency Hohman, Maybank and Lieb
The Gersh Agency has acquired the lit tenpercentery Hohman, Maybank and Lieb.
Bob Hohman, Bayard Maybank and Devra Lieb will join Gersh as partners starting at the beginning of the year and bring with them a client roster that includes Robert Rodat, Katherine Fugate and Allison Burnett. The shingle formed in 1996 after the trio left Triad after it merged with William Morris.
The tenpercentery was looking to expand its reach in the lit areas, and with David Kopple and Sara Self leaving Gersh, insiders say it sped up the process to add people to the department.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed and insiders are not sure who, if anyone, from Hohman, Maybank and Lieb will follow the three to Gersh.
The acquisition comes after Gersh’s recent announcement of a partnership with the Agency Group, which reps touring musical acts, aiming to help Agency’s clients land film and TV work and help Gersh’s comedy clients with bookings.
These recent pacts will serve to diversify revenue streams for the agency.
Hohman, Maybank and Lieb will run Gersh’s lit department alongside Abram Nalibotsky.
