France’s TF1 sees 9% ad lift

Third quarter ad revenue totals $421.6 million

As the advertising market bounces back across Europe, ad revs for Gallic commercial broadcaster TF1’s main channel rose 9% to €306 million ($421.6 million) in the third quarter vs. a year earlier.

TF1 rival M6 pulled in $183.2 million in ad revs for the quarter, up 19.3%.

“The TF1 results underscore the global increase in advertising revenues across Europe, notably in Germany, U.K. and Spain, since the beginning of the year,” said Christophe Cherblanc, analyst at Societe Generale.

TF1, which led ratings in October with a 24.7% market share, has pulled $28.8 million in operating profit over the third quarter compared to last year’s loss of $6.8 million.

TF1 prexy Nonce Paolini said the net’s full-year revenue should rise 8% on 2009.
