Disney preps ice hockey telepic

'Den Brother' to star Hutch Dano

Disney Channel is hitting the ice for its next made-for-TV movie.

“Den Brother” revolves around a self-centered teenage hockey star who gets suspended from his team. What’s more, the boy — played by Hutch Dano (“Zeke and Luther”) — must then serve as the substitute leader for his younger sister’s Bumble Bee scouting troop.

“Den Brother” will be available via Disney Channel On Demand from Aug. 6 before its Aug. 13 bow on the Disney Channel.

Mike Horowitz wrote the story behind “Den Brother,” while Jim Krieg wrote the teleplay. Mark Taylor (“Hooking Up”) directed the telepic, which was shot in Salt Lake City.

Salty Pictures is behind the movie, which was exec produced by Jessica Horowitz and Sandy Climan.

“Den Brother” also stars G Hannelius (“Sonny With a Chance”), Vicki Lewis, Debra Mooney, Kelsey Chow, David Lambert and Maurice Godin.
