'Say It Now' recently shot as a pilot
CBS is developing a new daytime talkshow starring Valerie Bertinelli and Australian TV host Rove McManus.
“Say It Now,” hosted by Bertinelli and McManus, is being developed through sister syndicator CBS TV Distribution. Show reps the latest of the Eye’s pilots serving in a sort of bakeoff, as CBS looks to fill the void left by the soon-to-exit sudser “As the World Turns.”

CBS TV Distribution has been looking for years to develop a talkshow around Bertinelli. In 2008, the distributor worked with Bertinelli on plans to morph the actress’s book “Losing It and Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time” into a show.
Bertinelli currently stars on the TV Land sitcom “Hot in Cleveland,” which just posted the channel’s best-ever premiere ratings.
As for McManus, the host has been looking at doing projects in the U.S. for some time, having previously worked with Steve Carell’s company on a potential show. McManus is a huge star in his native Australia, where he’s hosted a talkshow on the Ten Network.
CBS hopes to pick its “As the World Turns” replacement by July. In the running are a new version of “Pyramid,” hosted by Andy Richter; a mother-themed talkshow hosted by CBS’ Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Holly Robinson-Peete; and a food-centric gameshow starring Emeril Lagasse.
