The international ITV format hit “Come Dine With Me” is being added to the viewing menu in the U.S.
BBC Worldwide Channels and ITV Studios America will produce a U.S. version of the show for its international channels including BBC America, where “Come Dine With Me” is expected to bow early next year.
In the show, amateur chefs compete to put on the ultimate dinner party for a cash prize. The U.S. version will feature participants from the New York metropolitan area.
The 10-part 60-minute series will also air on BBC Lifestyle in Asia, Africa, Poland, Scandinavia and the Middle East, and on BBC Entertainment in Latin America.
“Come Dine With Me” has sold to more than 20 territories.
In the U.K. the format is a key show for Channel 4.
