David Hasselhoff will be the centerpiece of an untitled A&E nonscripted series to premiere this year.
Cabler has given the skein a 10-episode order. Half-hour series will focus on the former “Baywatch” star’s entertainment, business and family challenges, with considerable time spent on him trying to help his teenage daughters become recording artists.
FremantleMedia North America is producing the series for A&E. George Moll will exec produce.
In September 2007, E! greenlit “Tales of the Hoff,” which was supposed to present a fictional but rooted-in-truth version of Hasselhoff’s life — including some of the personal problems he has faced. However, the project never made it to air. A different program, “Meet the Hasselhoffs,” aired on the U.K.’s Living TV in 2009.
