“Better Off Ted” scribes Kat Likkel and John Hoberg have inked a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios.
The duo will develop new projects for the studio, and will also be placed on the staff of a new or existing series. Studio and scribes haven’t yet determined where they’ll wind up.
Likkel and Hoberg were co-exec producers for “Better off Ted,” which earned critical raves but struggled to find an aud in its two seasons on ABC. Before that, they were co-exec producers on NBC’s “My Name is Earl.”
Both “Ted” and “Earl” came from 20th Century Fox TV, where they were previously set up.
The duo’s other credits include “Life on a Stick” and “Hope and Faith.”
