Showbizzers are always game to hit the links for a good cause.
Scott Bakula was drafted by the national board of the Screen Actors Guild to spearhead the inaugural Screen Actors Guild Foundation Golf Classic, which tees off today at Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank. The event, dubbed “Actors Fore Actors,” will boost the coffers of the guild’s Catastrophic Health Fund, which aids thesps who have suffered such serious injuries that they are unable to work.
Bakula, who is a SAG board member, quickly recruited his co-stars (and fellow golf nuts) Ray Romano and Andre Braugher on the TNT dramedy “Men of a Certain Age” to serve as co-hosts. About 125 people are expected to take part.
It’s a good excuse to play golf on a work day,” Bakula quipped.
The event will also celebrate the 25th anni of the SAG Foundation, the guild’s philanthropic arm.
