Longtime TV exec Jerry Shevick has launched his own production shingle, Shevick Zupon Entertainment.
Shevick Zupon will focus on reality shows while also tapping into marketing and branding opportunities.
It already has two projects in the pipeline. Six hourlong episodes of “Hunting Hollywood”are in production and begin on Syfy in November, while “Pass the Joke” is in development with GSN as its home.
Shevick, who worked at Hearst Entertainment for 20 years, will act as president while Mark Zupon will be CEO.
“The entrepreneurial bent of this is exciting,” Shevick told Daily Variety. “We’re fully financed with a multiyear business plan.”
“Hunting Hollywood” examines the life of Joe Maddalena, an auctioneer of original movie, television and pop culture collectibles. Among the items he has sold include Capt. Kirk’s chair from the set of the original “Star Trek” and the bottle used in classic sitcom “I Dream of Jeannie.”
“Pass the Joke,” based on a 1972 never-before-seen format starring Milton Berle, is being produced with BermanBraun and Zoo Prods.
Amy Shpall-Appel will lead Shevick Zupon’s development slate while Sid Kaufman will oversee the licensing and merchandising division. Shingle will be based in Santa Monica.
