‘Kids’ on Heidi Klum’s mind

TV host partners with LMNO Prods. to produce show

Mother of four Heidi Klum is on the hunt for a few more “Seriously Funny Kids.”

Klum has partnered with LMNO Prods. to produce the show, which is about to be shopped to the networks. LMNO is well-versed in kids-themed reality shows having produced CBS’ Bill Cosby revival of “Kids Say the Darndest Things,”

“Seriously Funny Kids” will go on location to where the kids are and document their reactions to various scenarios.

“It’s time for the family reality show to come back,” said LMNO topper Eric Schotz, who’s exec producing with Klum and Desiree Gruber. “And Heidi is funny. But it’s not ‘Kids Say the Darndest Things’ — that was Bill Cosby-centric, and this is kid-centric.”

Klum already exec produces “Project Runway” and spinoff “Models of the Runway,” and is working on a project for Lifetime that would star both her and husband Seal.

The show is one of several that LMNO either has lined up in development or already picked up at network and cable.

Other projects include “The Golden Sisters,” a reality show about three sisters who own a salon in the San Fernando Valley. The hook: Two of them are 71-year-old twins, and the third sister is 79.

“These people jumped off the screen; they’re authentic,” said Schotz, who is partnering with fellow exec producer Gary Randall on the show. “With all the interest in Betty White right now, it just seems like the right timing for this.”

LMNO’s slate also includes a fourth edition of its series of specials about undercover celebrities, “I Get That a Lot,” for CBS.

At Animal Planet, the company is behind the new series “The Bear Whisperer,” starring professional bear wrangler Steve Searles. LMNO is also in its third season of “The Little Couple” for TLC and the second season of “Meteorite Men” for the Science Channel.

Other new series include Investigation Discovery’s “Unusual Suspects,” and Discovery Health’s new “NICU,” which premieres on July 15.

Also at Discovery Health, LMNO is producing the one-hour special “Strange Pregnancies,” which runs July 12.

Beyond the smallscreen, LMNO has also launched a new division devoted to developing electronic textbooks.

Schotz said LMNO Ed., as the division has been dubbed, will devote resources toward producing content for the educational space.

“We’ve started doing some cool stuff in that area,” Schotz said.
