Fox re-ups Marcy Ross

Exec VP current programming signs three-year deal

As it continues to lock up its top executives, Fox has re-upped current programming topper Marcy Ross.

Ross, who serves as exec VP of current programming, has signed a three-year deal to remain at the network.

Ross’ deal comes as Fox recently extended its relationships with alternative prexy Mike Darnell and marketing chief Joe Earley.

The contract extension for Ross is also a sign that Fox remains committed to a current programming department. Such teams had fallen out of vogue at some of the networks — although they’re making a comeback, now that ABC and NBC have restored their current departments.

Recently, Ross worked to steer “Glee” through its first season, helping it land the most Emmy nominations of any scripted series this season.

Ross, who reports to Fox Entertainment prexy Kevin Reilly, oversees shows including “House,” “The Simpsons,” “Fringe,” “Bones,” “Family Guy” and “The Cleveland Show.”

This season, she’ll also take on oversight of new skeins including “Lone Star,” “Raising Hope,” “Running Wilde” and “Bob’s Burgers.”

Ross has served as exec VP since 2007, and before that, was senior VP for five years at Fox. Prior to the network, she worked at Studios USA, the Jim Henson Co. and Sandollar TV.
