Exec shuffles for Aug. 9

Starz Entertainment has promoted Marta Fernandez and Robert Markovich to veeps of original programming. Both will developand oversee creative aspects of Starz programming. The network also upped Richter Hartig to VP of original production finance.

Lynsey Friedman Birnbaum has been tapped as director of licensing of A&E Television Networks. Birnbaum comes from United Media where she served as its licensing manager. In her new role, she will be responsible for all non-home entertainment consumer product licensing and new product development activities worldwide for the company.

Matt Skiena has been promoted to vice president of production at Village Roadshow Pictures Entertainment. Skiena had served as the creative exec for the company. He will now be responsible for tracking and identifying feature film projects for Village Roadshow Pictures.

Telemundo has upped Susan Solano Vila to exec VP of marketing for Telemundo Communications Group. She will be in charge of overseeing all marketing activities that Telemundo and its cable network, mun2, are involved in. Vila had served as senior VP of marketing.

* * *

Maya Entertainment Group has brought on Elias Axume as exec VP for international distribution. Axume will be responsible for international sales and distribution. He had served as exec vice prexy of Myriad Pictures where he oversaw worldwide sales, distribution and acquisitions for several pics at the company that included “Main Street” and “Margin Call.”

Technicolor has tapped Jill Gilbert as VP of business development for its animated division. Gilbert comes to Technicolor from One Plus Prods.

* * *

The Culver Studios has named Abigail Zellmer as its new associate director of client services. Zellmer joins Culver from Raleigh Studios where she was responsible for marketing and booking productions for all of Raleigh’s locations.
