In life, Bob Hope personified the American dream. As such it is fitting that Hope’s legacy will be celebrated at the site where the American dream began for so many.
On Tuesday, Hope’s daughter, Linda, and son, Kelly, will gather with Gotham Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other luminaries for the dedication of the Bob Hope Memorial Library at the Immigrant Museum on Ellis Island.
The library will feature exhibits on Hope’s career, a joke kiosk and an installation highlighting other famous folks who passed through Ellis Island, as Hope did at the age of 4 in 1907.
“This honor would have meant the world to my dad,” Linda Hope says.
