A ‘Network’ for film gals

Eva Mendes hosts fundraiser

Tan and glam gals gathered at Palihouse in West Hollywood on Monday night to “celebrate iconic, strong women,” explained host Eva Mendes. The tans were courtesy of the self-tanning brand St. Tropez, who also sponsored, with proceeds going to FilmAid International, the global charity that uses film to “affect social change” in communities in need.

But what really drew the crowd — including actors Georgina Rylance, Elizabeth Olin and Joaquim de Almeida, socialites Amanda Scheer-Demme and Lady Victoria Hervey, and renowned interior designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard — was the chance to see the classic movie “Network” on the big screen.

Mendes chose that 1976 Oscar-winning film because “when I think of iconic women — besides my mother — what comes to mind is Faye Dunaway and ‘Network.’ “
