The Santa Barbara Film Fest will honor Nicole Kidman with the Cinema Vanguard award. Kidman, who stars in the December release “Rabbit Hole,” is set to receive the honor at the Feb. 5 tribute at the Arlington Theater.
The Vanguard kudo, previously awarded to thesps including Vera Farmiga and Christoph Waltz, honors an actor who has taken artistic risks. In “Rabbit Hole,” which Kidman also co-produced, she co-stars with Aaron Eckhart as a woman who experiences the ultimate loss.
The 26th Santa Barbara fest runs Jan. 27 to Feb. 6.
