Something old, something new at Outside Lands Fest

Furthur Furthur, the band featuring the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, and Grammy winners Kings of Leon will headline an impressive lineup at this year’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, which convenes Aug. 14-15 in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

The eclectic bill for the third annual Outside Lands hoedown will include the Strokes, My Morning Jacket, Phoenix, Social Distortion, Levon Helm, Al Green, Nas and Damian Marley, Cat Power, Wolfmother, Chromeo and Janelle Monae. More than 40 acts have been confirmed.

Two-day tickets for the event go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. at; single-day tickets go on sale Sunday at 10 a.m.

A portion of the ticket sales benefit San Francisco’s Recreation and Parks Department.
