Recipients to be feted during Grammy Week

The Recording Academy has announced its lifetime achievement, Trustees and Technical awards honorees for 2011.

Recipients will be feted at a private event during Grammy Week in February.

Garnering lifetime achievement recognition for their career contributions are Broadway and film star Julie Andrews, jazz drummer and bandleader Roy Haynes, classical unit the Juilliard String Quartet, ’50s folk-pop threesome the Kingston Trio, country and pop thrush Dolly Parton, punk rockers the Ramones and gospel singer-composer George Beverly Shea.

Trustees Awards, presented by the academy’s trustees to distinguished nonperforming individuals, go to former Stax Records exec VP Al Bell, the late classical producer Wilma Cozart Fine and longtime EMI/Blue Note jazz exec Bruce Lundvall.

Technical Award will go to instrument designer Roger Linn, creator of the electronic LinnDrum, and software designer Waves Audio, developer of computer plug-ins.
