Osbourne, Iommi call off Sabbath suit

Ozzy-osbourne-tony-iommi-black-sabbath Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi, respectively founding vocalist and guitarist for the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, announced early Tuesday that they had resolved issues regarding ownership of the band name.

Osbourne sued Iommi last May in New York federal court, alleging that the axe man had wrongfully claimed sole ownership of the Sabbath moniker, which is still worth millions in merchandising dollars.

No further details of the resolution were announced, but Osbourne and Iommi’s statement did conclude with an amusing allusion to “The Godfather”: “…[T]he issue was never personal, it was always business.”
