NY Times publishes four-word Bonnaroo “reviews”

Bonnaroo-festival-2009
Evidently finding haiku attenuated and Twitter overly verbose, the New York Times today offers four-word reviews of acts at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee on its Arts Beat blog.

If your attention span is too short for the entire post, here are highlights from Ben Sisario’s post on Thursday’s acts:

“Fanfarlo: Proof ArcFire’s more’n fiddles.”

“Entrance Band/Baroness: If hippies hate Slayer, is heavy’s success
failure?” (This is almost cheating, since two bands are covered in eight words.)

“The XX: Cold, beautiful, boring mask.”

Such past masters of rock-critical pith as Robert Christgau and J.D. Considine are no doubt envious.
