Phil Quartararo partnering up on new firm
Former major label topper Phil Quartararo is partnering with entertainment exec Patrick Hughes to found a new Woodland Hills-based firm, Management Period.
Company will provide management, marketing and branding services for clients in all media realms — music, film, TV, books and related industries.
Management Period’s inaugural clients include reality star Janice Dickenson, whose upcoming ventures include fashion and perfume lines and a radio show, and “Melody Street,” a multiplatform book franchise with branded TV, videogame and CD elements.
New alliance brings the roster of Quartararo’s previous music marketing and branding company Filament Entertainment into the fold. Clients include trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, singer-songwriter Marie Digby and Japanese metal unit XJapan. Filament was formed with former label exec Kaz Utsunomiya and ex-Saatchi & Saatchi global CEO Jimmy O’Mahony.
Before founding Filament, Quartararo was executive VP of EMI Music North America. Before that, he served as president of Warner Bros. Records and was CEO of Virgin Records America.
Hughes’ company Hughes Capital Entertainment was a diversified finance, management and production company.
